The USTF Charter


ARTICLE 1 - INTRODUCTION


SECTION I: PURPOSE The United States Taekwon-Do Federation Policy and Procedures Manual contains policies and forms approved by the United States Taekwon-Do Federation

This manual is intended to serve the following purposes: 1) to inform all member schools of current policy and procedure; 2) to help ensure compliance with all National, Regional, and State requirements; 3) to assist new member schools in gaining an immediate understanding of the manner in which the United States Taekwon-Do Federation functions.

SECTION II: MAINTENANCE It is essential that all copies of this manual stay current in order to effectively serve the purpose for which it was designed. National Headquarters will be responsible for insuring that Regional and State Directors have current copies. These policies will be updated as necessary and will be supplied to Regional and State Directors at cost of materials only. If this manual is destroyed by negligence a replacement fee of $20 will be charged.


ARTICLE II - AFFILIATION


SECTION I; AFFILIATION The United States Taekwon-Do Federation, headquarters located at 6801 West 117 Avenue #E-5, Broomfield Colorado, 80020, is affiliated directly with the International Taekwon-Do Federation, headquarters located at Gerasdorfer Strasse 153, Haus Nr. 23A, 1210 Vienna, Austria.

SECTION II: BIOGRAPHY The United States Taekwon-Do Federation (USTF) formed in Chicago, Illinois on July 20, 1974, is the American branch of the International Taekwon-Do Federation. Its purpose is to set, supervise, maintain and improve Takwon-Do standards. It also provides technical advice and recommendations for awards and promotions in the United States and it's territories. The original officers were: Congressman Bob Mathias, President; Tae Hi Nam, Senior Vice President; Dong Ja Yang, Secretary; and Region Vice Presidents Gerald Watson (East), Joon San Chung (Midwest), and C.E. Sereff (West). In 1979 Master C.E. Sereff was elected President of the United States Taekwon-Do Federation. On April 9, 1994, Master C.E. Sereff was reelected to this position for his third term.

SECTION III: GOALS United States Taekwon-Do Federation goals include: making its members the best Martial Artists in the World, practicing the true traditional form of Taekwon-Do, building the strongest Martial Arts Federation in the U.S.A., and promoting the ideals of Taekwon-Do as set forth by General Choi Hong Hi.

SECTION IV: LOGO USE The USTF logo is a registered trademark and cannot be used in any fashion other than stationery, brochured, and other non-salable literature without prior permission from the United States Taekwon- Do Federation. An annual fee of $100 is required if the logo is used in conjunction with a personal profit. A copy of this license agreement can be obtained from the United States Taekwon-Do Federation headquarters. "Any person or school using said logo will be prosecuted to the utmost of the law."

SECTION V: LETTER TO PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS In the forms section of this manual you will find a letter to prospective members produced by the United States Taekwon-Do Federation. Please, feel free to duplicate this form for use to recuit new members. Headquarters also offers video tapes and other promotional material (See supplies list, this manual).
