Storage of magnetic fields at base of convection zone is essential to the large-scale dynamo that drives cyclic magnetic activity on the sun.

Turbulent compressible convection simulations of the base of the convection zone performed on the NASA HPCC/ESS testbed show that field can be pumped out of the convection zone and into the underlying stable region and stored there.
