Prior to show start, I would like to ask you to do several things.
On or before the end of Saturday, 11/7/98 Please:
1) Set up wally for the show network following the instructions from Allen
Steiner. Please choose an easily remembered name. (My sugestion is
nren-mon cause that seems to be somewhat common.)
2) Include in the setup the camera, mic and speakers shipped with wally.
3) Please reset the multicast forwarding threshould on the edge router at
Chicago to 60 so that our vic sessions during the show can get out to U of
Minnisotta and U of Colorado. This will need to be reset at the end of the
show.
On Sunday 11/8/98 Please:
4) Help Ann Hammond, Joe Mambretti and the other partners set up a dry run
on Sunday, 11/8/98. Do this by:
4a) starting wally
4b) start sdr on wally
4c) find the session advitised for SC98 and join.
4d) on the vic menu, select and start the transmission of the video camera
4e) on the vat manu, select and start the transmission of the audio
4f) On the ImmersaDesk / SGI start Many Worlds using the outline Laura
worked up and you documented on your trip to Lewis.
