I received word from ANL Thursday that ANL will be unable to do a joint
demo with us. Please see the attached message:

Shelly-
We are in agreement to help NASA/NREN with setting up your demo
as best we can - we do *not* have resources to work a "full-blown
joint demo" as you suggested in your tasklist at the beginning of October.
The problem is one of overcommitted resources already and a rather
long list of priority projects that need to be addressed first (I know you
can hum a few bars of this tune on your side as well...). As noted in
our previous discussions, Manyworlds has been scheduled for release,
which was consistent with your interests, but we cannot dedicate
resources to your implementation at the cost of the project plans/deliverables.
We can help your team to setup your demo in your booth but we don't
have any extra cycles to throw at other issues/activities - we've
been "robbing Peter to pay Paul" quite a bit already with Bob and other
Futures Lab time to assist your team's efforts.
Randy Hudson and Bob Olson have volunteered to be available at SC98
to help with setting your demo up - but cannot be "on hand" during the show
at other booths to run this and similar demos as we need them at ANL's booth.
I understand they've been working, as best they can with our pending Open
House and SC98 prep, with you to answer as many prep/install/set up
questions as needed...hopefully this has helped your cause.
Let us know how/where this plugs into your game plan - and please keep
us posted on specific times/tasks as they develop so that if we have a
spare hand, we can lend it to you.
